Hidden Features

Here we introduce a few of Sound Control's hidden features that you may wish to take advantage of.

Sound Control in the Dock

1. Drag the Sound Control app from /Applications and add it to your Dock.
2. Click on the Sound Control icon in the dock.

The Sound Control menu will be shown near the dock. This works for all Dock orientations. In this sample image we have the dock shown on the right hand side of the screen.

Alternate Menu

In Sound Control's General Preferences there is an option to specify the "Default menu". You can choose to see Apps or Devices for your default menu. To quickly show the other menu, hold down Option while clicking on the Sound Control menu icon. In this case, when we hold down option, the Devices menu will be shown.

Instant Volume Changes

Beginning in Sound Control 2.4.0, clicking on a volume slider will animate the volume change. Option-click the volume sliders to instantly change volume.
